Colonel W. D. Holgate returned from the South by the Limited this morning. The Rev. C. G. Scrimgeour returned from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. J. S. Hunter, Commissioner of Transport, is visiting Auckland on business.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Dryden, of Invercargill, arrived in Auckland by the express this morning.
Mr. Harvey Turner left for Wellington by the express yesterday afternoon, He expects to return to-morrow.
Mr. T. Brown, of Kawakawa, who arrived in Auckland by 'plane on Monday, left again for Kawakawa yesterday.
Mr. W. Dynes Fulton, chairman of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., will leave for England on February 9.
Captain T. J. Watts, secretary and advisory inspector to the United Fire Brigades' Association, returned from the South yesterday.
Professor H. Belshaw, of the School of Commerce of Auckland University College, leaves for Wellington by the Limited this evening.
Professor P. W. Robertson, professor of chemistry at Victoria College, Wellington, arrived in Auckland by the Limited this morning.
M-. A. M. Seaman left for Wellington by the Limited last evening to attend a meeting of the Associated Chambers pf Commerce, of which he is president.
Mr. W. Kay, former headmaster of Richmond Road school, is returning with Mrs. Kay by the lonic, due at Auckland from London on February 10. They have been on an extended holiday trip.
Professor C. G. Cooper, MA., of St. Andrew's University, recently appointed to the chair of classics at the Auckland University College, will arrive from London by the lonic, due on February 10.
Mr. H. G. Forder, B.A. (Cantab), recently appointed lecturer in mathematics at the Auckland University College, is coming by the lonic, due at Auckland from London on February 10. Lieut.-Colonel J. Sclater, traffic manager in Australia and New Zealand for Canadian Pacific Railways, arrived in Wellington by the Makura from Sydney on Monday, on a three weeks' busi- | ness visit.
Dr. A. J. Williams, formerly of Otago University, and holder of a postgraduate travelling scholarship in science of the University of New Zealand, has been appointed to the Geological Survey of British Guiana.
Captain H. M. Rushworth, M.P. for Bay of Islands, and Mr. A. E. Robinson, secretary of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, Auckland Province, leave by the Limited this evening for Palmerston North, to attend the Douglas camp.
Mr. J. E. Ryan, general passenger manager of the Oceanic Steamship Co., and Mr. H. E. Pippin, passenger traffic manager for Australia and New Zealand, arrived from Rotorua yesterday and are staying at the Northern Club. They will leave for Sydney by the Mariposa to-morrow.
Mr. Edwin N. Weighell is at present a visitor to Auckland from Birmingham on a tour of Australia and New Zealand covering several months. Mr. We.ighell has come out from England as a service envoy from, the Austin Motor Co. to visit all stations throughout Africa, Australia and New Zealand catering for Austin cars, with the object of giving
the latest information and advice in retgard to plant and special tools. He leaves for Wellington on Friday..
