THE WORLD'S NEED.
Here arc views expressed by two well known women. Annie S. Swan (Mrs. Burnet Smith), the noveliet, says in a letter to the editor of a religious paper, the world we are living in is strange and terrible, and can never be better till men's hearts are changed. Mary Pickford in an article in the Auguet "Forum" on "What Eeligion Means to Me," says that the world ie grasping for something beyond tottering material effecte. "It wants," she affirms, "religion, it needs religion, and, more than anything else, a restatement of religion."
