ORDERS FOR BRITAIN. The Moscow Narodny Bank, Ltd., London, reports as follows:—According to the figures supplied by the Soviet trading organisations'in Great Britain, the orders placed in this country during October is mounted to £506,202, as compared with £330,721 in September of this year. The largest single item purchased in the past month -was textiles, which accounted for £118,650. Ferrous metals were next in importance with a total of £110,245, while non-ferrous metals accounted for £81,860. The purchase of rubber also showed an increase, as compared with September, and amounted to £85,357, while machinery and equipment totalled £48,385. Tea purchases have shown a reduction and r.mounted to £37.811, as compared with £57.490 in September, while miscellaneous goods accounted in October for £17.864. During October, twenty-seven British vessels were chartered, as compared with thirty-nine vessels in September of this J year, and twenty vessels in October. 1032.1 The amount paid in freights in October was £109,072. as compared with £184,208 in September and £50,509 in October, 1932.
