BUSINESS LIVENS UP. MANY SALES GOiNG THROUGH. BANK SHARES IN DEMAND. Business on the Auckland Stock Exchange lias livened up considerably over the last 2i hours, and a big list of sales has been recorded. Values generally have been well maintained, and the uiarKet has a healthy tone. At this morning's call bank shares were in good demand and prices advanced. lor New Zealands buyers raised their oilers 6d, to £2 9/3, and Commercials changed hands at 18/3, an advance of lid. Other bank shares were asked for at higher rates. Australian securities again attracted attention. For Burns, Philp shares £'l 14/6 was offered, and £1 1/9 was available for Dunlops. Government stocks were in good demand, with recent values fully maintained. Busy at Noon. The buoyant tone noted earlier continued during the morning, and at the noon call a fresh list of sales was recorded, most of which were finalised in the room. Bank of New Zealands had a sale at £2 9/8, after which buyers were still in at Id lower. Buyers raised their bids ■ for Dunlops to £1 2/, and for New Zealand Breweries to £1 19/9, the highest level noted for some time. Waihis were easier, and after sales at £1 9/7 £1 9/6 were still available at the higher figure. SAXJSS COMPLETED.

INTEREST BATES. The return to the investor on his outlay, based upon the latest dividends, works out as follows on the latest sales. Where Government stocks are included the calculation provides' for redemption at maturity.
