MEAT FOR UNEMPLOYED. WANGANUI DRIVE PLANNED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WANG-ANUI, this day. The chairman of the Wanganui County Council, Mr. Duncan Mackintosh, has set a lead again in regard to assisting the unemployed. Before Christmas he arranged for a. liberal distribution of lamb, and at a County Council meeting to-day he launched a scheme for an extensive drive fior gifts of sheep and cattle from farmers, to be placed in the freezing works for distribution during the winter.
