MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP.

FOR NEW ZEALANDERS. ' Miss Mary Campbell, chief singing teacher at the Melbourne Conservatorium of music, who is visiting New Zealand, is at present in Auckland and is staying with Mrs. Harold Owers at Takapuna. Miss Campbell is really on holiday, but at the same time she is giving singers here an opportunity of receiving particulars of a music scholarship for New Zealand singers at the Melbourne Conservatorium. Arrangements for a scholarship under the bequest by the late Dame Nellie Melba have not been completed yet, but meanwhile a special scholarship granted by the Conservatorium has been decided upon. Miss Campbell has heard a number ot good voices already in this country, and speaks highly of one, a bass, a very rare voice, which she considers is particularly suited for opera and which should have European training. Miss Campbell is remaining in Auckland until February 2.
