CONVERTED CAR WRECKED.
DETENTION TERM IMPOSED. (By Telegraph.—r>-rss / DUNEDIN, Wednesday. For unlawful conversion of a car, Walter Harry Yates, a youth, was sentenced to one year's detention in a Borstal institute. The police stated that accused had never driven a car before, and when negotiating a bend in the road he ran the vehicle, which was valued at £100, into a telegraph post, completely wrecking the car.
