MOUNT WELLINGTON.

The ordinary fortnightly meeting of the Mount Wellington Road Board was held last evening, the members present being Messrs. W. Gollam (chairman), N. Walters, H. Hay, R. M. McCulloch and G. Kay. Cycle Track—The Automobile Association forwarded a suggestion from the Otahuliu Borough Council that steps be taken to arrange for a cycle track to be constructed along the Great South Road, northwards from the Otahuhu boundary, which is within the districts of Mount Wellington and One Tree Hill. The board agreed to attend a conference if arranged by the Automobile Association. Speed Limit.—The board approved of a by-law to restrict the speed of motor vehicles to 25 miles per hour on that part of the Great South Road from Sylvia Park Station Road, on the north side o£ the overbridge, and Sylvia Avenue on the south side, and to prohibit motor vehicles from overtaking other motor vehicles on the bridge, and approaching thereto.

Closing Day.—lt was derided to make no alteration in the closing day for shops in the district, and to continue the of Saturday for that purpose. Relief Works. —A schedule oE permanent new construction work was adopted for submission to the Unemployment Board for the employment of relief workers in the district. It included the formation of Stewart Avenue for a length of 60 chains to give access to a good beach on the west bank of the Tamaki River, near Panmure.
