OVERDUE REPAIRS.

WORK ON COURTHOUSES. JOBS FOR SKILLED MEN. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Fifteen courthouses in the Dominion are to receive attention in the way of lono- overdue repairs, which, if not now undertaken, will not only seriously affect the building, but will also be the cause of heavier expenditure in the near future. . , The courthouses in tne list enuinerated by the Minister of Justice, the Hon. J G. Cobbe, are in the following districts: Stratford, Hawera, Manaia, Waitara, Rotorua, Kaikolie, Whangarei, Picton, Dunedin, Darfield, Oamaru, Gore, Roxburgh, Ophir and Alexandra. The Minister said the nature of the work to be put in hand almost at once on. the buildings mentioned was mostly repairs and painting. The expenditure on each building would b6 small, but nevertheless it was sufficient to provide a further avenue of work to some skilled (tradesmen, who had had sucli a lean time throughout the economic depression.
