MONOWAI'S CRUISE.

VISIT TO THE SOUNDS. AUSTRALIAN TOURISTS. (By Telegraph.—Presß Association.) DUNEDIN, Wednesday. The Monowai, with 310 passengers from Australia, arrived at Port Chalmers yesterday after a cruise through Milford, Thompson, Doubtful, Breaksea and Dusky ..Sounds. The passengers were charmed with the outstanding beauty of the' - scenery. Captain. A. H. Davey said the weather was delightful, and he was sure that when the passengers returned to Australia they would lose no opportunity of praising the scenic attractions of the South Island. Of the 310 passengers, 100 were for Dunedin, and more than that number proceeded to Wellington, while a large number are making the round-voyage from Melbourne. Prominent passengers on the Monowai were Mr. W. Plain, a member of the Federal Senate, and leader of the Victorian Scottish delegation, and Mrs. Plain; Mr. A. Sloane, a well-known grazier in the Riverina district, accompanied by his son, Mr. P. G. Sloane; Mr. W. M. Mcllwrick, a well-known Melbourne solicitor, and member of the Scottish delegation, and Mrs. Mcllwrick; Professor and Mrs. T. B. Laby, of Melbourne University, accompanied by their daughters, Misses J. and D. Laby; Miss T. Officer, well known in Melbourne society; Mr. A. S. Pearse, a director of General Motors Corporation; Mr. J. Spencer, associate director of Myer Emporium, Limited; Mr. A. Cooch, general manager of the State Savings Bank of Victoria; Mr. A. Rowe, of Melbourne; Mr. and Mrs. T. S. Nettlefold and daughter; Professor McCallum, professor of pathology, Melbourne University. .
