DELAYED BY WEATHER

SOUTHERN CROSS FLIGHT. MAY LEAVE TO-MORROW. Owing to unfavourable weather, Sir Charles Kingsford Smith did not leave Sydney in the Southern Cross to-day, reports stating that a cyclonic disturbance is centred over the Tasman Sea. He hopes, however, to leave to-morrow. A Rres3 Association message from Sydney states that Sir Charles Kingsford Smith intended to pass over the Monterey, aboard which his wife is coming to Auckland, in the Tasman Sea, and send wireless messages to her every quarter of an hour. As tho vessel was moving out of Sydney Harbour yesterday he flew over her in the Southern Cross Junior and waved to his wife. The Sydney "Dajly Telegraph" states that Sir Charles will go to the United States in July to buy a high-speed aeroplane. He will take it to England by steamer and then fly it to Australia as a competitor in the Centenary air race.
