SAPPHIRES AND OPALS.
Sapphires are supposed to keep free from sadness those who are born in September. Their beautiful shade of blue, the same colour as the heavens, made them to be considered a charm against evil powers. Opals are no longer considered unlucky. Their meaning is hope, and they should be worn by women born in October.
