DUNNING TAKES FIVE WICKETS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NAPIER, Saturday. The cricket match between Otago and Hawke's Bay was resumed this morning, but after 25 runs had been added to the home team's score rain caused play to be stopped. Time then did not permit a finish to the match. Otago, batting yesterday, made 268 in its first innings. Hawke'e Bay completed its first innings to-day for 246, having recovered from a bad start in which it lost six for 71. Lambert, Beuth and H. Apart from Midland, the scoring was very low, ulthough thnro were some good individual scores. Wellington's Plunket Shield opening batsmen, Dustin and Tindlll, topped the list with 105 and 84 respectively. The scores were:— Kilblrnic mnde 194 (Crook 84) against Wellington, 75 for fivo wickets (Synies seven for 5-1). Midland scored 383 for eight wickets (Dustin 105, Tindill 84, Baker 09) against Hutt. ■nniversity compiled 181 (Blandford 70) against Old Boys, 195 for seven wickets (Paruloc 78, and five wickets for 80). In reply to Institute's 118, Petone scored 152 for six wickets (Mallard C 3). Brice took five wickets for 37. LOW SCORES IN OTAGO. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. Senior cricket matches were resumed on soft wickets on Saturday. Dunedin scored 204 against Carlsbrook (Dltchfield 46, Torrauce 31, Claridge 71). Kusscll took three wiekets for 41. Carlsbrook replied with 22 for no wickets. Chlristinn Brothers, playIng Albion, made 178 (Rodgerson 33). Allen secured live wickets for 24. Albion has lost no wickets for 13. Grange made 15J against University (Galland 53, Lcniin 37). Cameron took six wickets for 52. University was dismissed for the small total of 27 (Lcniin four for 13, including the hat trick, Lcdgerwood four for 13i, In Its second innings University lost three wickets for 34 (l>ey two for S).
