ROTOH.UA REGATTA. PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. All arrangements nre well in hand for the Kotorua regatta, to be held on the lake at Ohinemutu next Saturday. Special Interest attaches to the gala, as the Auckland Bowing Association's provincial championships will be decided. The Kotorua officials are sparing no effort to make the regatta a success and the many suggestions offered by the Auckland Association's executive have been given effect to. A special Judge's box has been built and will be on a barge moored offshore. The winning crew's club Jlag will be hoisted over the judge's box at the finish of each race and this will keep the public fully informed, as the big flags can be seen from a considerable distance. In addition loud speakers will be Installed and a description of the progress of each race given. Special speed boats will be used by the starter and umpire. Up to 3 p.m. on Saturday 61 entries had been received, but more ere expected as the time axed for closing was 6 p.m. to-day. The Auckland crews spent Saturday afternoon training and so!no good work was indulged in. Coaches were busy correcting faults noticeable at the West End regatta and the public can rest assured that the crews will be in good form for Kotorua, sis, in addition to the provincial championship honours, the donations in each race are very liberal.
