BOMBAY EXPRESS SERVICE.
CALCUTTA, January 5.
The Hon. Alexander Shaw, chairman of the P. and O. Steam Navigation Cojppany, speaking at a dinner in honour of Lord Brabourne, the new Governor of Bombay, said the company was laying down a large vessel whose speed would be greater than that of the liner Viceroy of India, and which would be employed in the express service between- Bombay, Marseilles and London. ; The new liner would probably be named'the Strathmore, and would be in service in the autumn of 1935. The liner Viceroy of India, which has a 6peed of 18 knots, is a steel twin-screw turbo-electric vessel of 19,648 tons, and was built in 1929. /
