NEW YEAR "JOKE."
OBSTRUCTIONS ON ROAD. YOUNG MEN QUESTIONED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. Extensive inquiries have been made by the police in an effort to discover who was responsible for placing the obstructions on the Whangarei-Kaikohe Road on New Year's Eve. It was stated by Senior Sergeant Powell this morning that the police had questioned a number of young men in the Awarua locality, and that some of them would appear on summons in due course.
