COOL THIEF.
HAMILTON HOUSE ENTERED. MET OWNER WHEN LEAVING. (By Telegraph.—Own. Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Tuesday. When Mr. J. C. McCready returned to his home in Milton Avenue after an absence of two hours yesterday afternoon he met a man leaving the house. The man said that he was looking for someone else. Mr. McCready asked no questions, but ho discovered later that his visitor had stolen £10 worth of jewellery. The stranger asked Mr. McCready whether another man resided in the house. Mr. McCready replied in the negative, and the stranger departed. On entering his house Mr. McCready found the windows open and jewellery missing from a bedroom. By then the stranger had disappeared. The police are investigating.
