PATHWAYS MADE BY ELEPHANTS.
In parts of Africa where elephants abound are pathways trodden through the grass and forest. These are made by elephants, and some are hundreds of years old. The ground is trodden bo absolutely hard that nothing grows upon it. Like man-made roads they have turnings leading from them, and you will see that these roads are not ■ made by chance, but always lead to some definite place, such as a river crossing, drinking pool, or a short cut to another feeding ground. The elephant, even in his wild state, uses his brain and does things for a reason.
