STOLEN BICYCLE.
. LABOURER SENTENCED. A fine of £5 with the alternative of a month in gaol was this morning imposed by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M.,' on Morris Daniel Andrews, a labourer, aged 27, who appeared for sentence on a charge of stealing a bicycle valued at £5 10/, the property of Ernest Herbert Welham. "He has been in trouble before, and in this case he went into the box and committed perjury," said Mr. Hunt. "It is very rarely that I am lenient in such cases. However, he is married with young .children, and I. do not want him to spend Christmas in gaol. "It is your last chance," said Mr. Hunt, who allowed accused until to-morrow to pay.
