AVONDALE WOMEN'S CLUB.

Tile Avondale Women's Club 'held its final meeting* for the year on Tuesday afternoon in the Blockhouse Bay Hall. Miss E. M. Newton presided and gV'e an account of the recent meeting of the National Council of Women. Arrangements were made for the breaking-up party to be held on Tuesday evening, December o. The speaker for the afternoon was Mrs. Cammell, of St. John Ambulance' Association, who gave a very helpful talk on first aid to the -injured, with special reference to treatment of casualties likely to be sustained by children. A demonstration of bandaging was followed with great interest, and Mrs." Cammell concluded her address by answering questions. The president , heartily thanked the speaker for her most instructive lecture. Miss Olive WorgerThomas provided delightful entertainment by singing severa: songs, and a sketch was given by Mrs. Metcalfe. Tea, served by Mrs. March and members of the committee, brought a very plansant afternoon to a close.
