LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
BOARD OF CONTROL.
At the meeting of the Auckland Rugby League Board of Control last evening, Mr. G. Grey Campbell presiding, a motion of condolence was passed in the usual manner with Mr. C. Liversidge in the death of his wife, the mother of Mr. W. J. Liversidge. An official letter from the council congratulated the management" on the club performances against the St. George team, of Sydney. The council considered that the progress would be more than maintained during next year. The Grey Lynn Relief Committee and the Grey Lynn Unemployed Workers' Association expressed gratitude for assis-. tance in the success of the football match at Carlaw Park, as a result of which a considerable sum had been raised for the benefit of needy people in the district. .( Improvement work in connection with the park was discussed and referred to the ground committee for action.
