The Ohinemuri Jockey Club's meeting held on behalf of the Taumarunui Racing Club opened at Paeroa to-day and will conclude on Saturday. Although the weather is threatening there is a good attendance and the going is excellent. A. Gilmer, rider of Cruachan, who finished second in the Handicap Hurdles, lodged a protest against F. Thompson, rider of the winner, Welcome Boy, for interference, but after hearing evidence no action was taken. As the field entered the straight in the Trial Handicap Top Light fell, bringing down Mungacre and Killidar. Results:— HANDICAP HURDLES of lOOsovs. One mile 'and a half.
