"HABITUAL'S" LAPSE.
THEFT OF FOUR CYCLES.
An habitual criminal who was out on license, Harry Alfred Marshall, aged 51, appeared before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., charged with stealing four cycles of the total value of £13 10/, and failing to comply with the terms and conditions of his release on probation. Marshall pleaded guilty to all the five charges. Detective Mahood produced statements made by accused in which he admitted stealing the four cycles from the city and Otahuhu and selling them to dealers. On the theft charges, Marshall was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. On the summary charge of breach of probation, the probation officer, Mr. W. J. Campbell said Marshall was released from prison-on March 4, 1930, on license. "Considering his list, he has done exceptionally well since-being on license*." On this charge, Marshall was sentenced to three months' imprisonment.
