STOCK ON ROADS.

WHANGAREI, Wednesday.
Action against owners who allow stock to wander on the roads has been taken by the County Council's inspector, and three cases came before Mr, G. N. Morris, S.M., in the Police Court to-day. Ernest Benjamin Jagger did not appear to answer -a- charge of allowing two horses to wander on the TaurikuraWhangarei Road, but the inspector said he had admitted the offence. He was fined £1 and costs. A. McMillan was fined a similar sum for allowing .five -heifers• to- wander -on the Titoki Road. In the case of Arthur Gilbert Attwood, who was. charged with .allowing 30 cows "and a bull to wander on the Parua Bay-Whangarei Road, the magistrate said he would increase the fine to .£2 10/ and costs.
