FARMER'S DEATH.
WHILE QUAIL SHOOTING.
DISCOVERY BY NEIGHBOURS.
<By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.* THAMES, Wednesday. An inquest concerning the death of Mr. Hilton Dalgety, aged 39, who was found dead in a shed on his farm at Pipiroa yesterday, was held at his residence last evening. A. G. Wilson, aged 16, a farm hand working for deceased, stated that before the milking was ■ completed deceased went to shoot quaiL Later witness saw deceased lying in a pool of blood. Witness did not hear a report of a gun. Olive May Dalgety, wife of the deceased, said her husband came to the house about 7 a.m. and asked for cartridges as he wished to shoot quail. Later witness' brothers, who lived on the next farm, came and told her that her husband wn.s dead. Deceased had been in the best of spirits and enjoyed good health. The coroner, Mr. W. Bongard, returned a verdict of accidental death.
