ONE-DAY CRICKET.
WORTH A TRIAL HERE. fßy Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. A. W. Roberts, Canterbury and New Zealand cricketer, returned to-day from his season of Lancashire League cricket in England. He says one-day matches are worth a trial here. From the public viewpoint one-day cricket is ideal, although certainly not much good from a cricketer's viewpoint. Batsmen have to score runs quickly or get out, and there is no such thing as getting set. The present New Zealand system of one side batting all the afternoon isn't so good.
