HAPPY AUSTRALIA.
NEW SPIRIT Or CONFIDENCE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. "I have just come out of the happy land back to the land of promise," said Mr. Beaumont Smith, the well-known cinema organiser, who arrived by the Wanganella to-day. "Australia is happy," he said, because it has long since passed the stage when it was felt things were so bad that they could not help getting worse. People are spending in Australia in their new spirit of confidence and faith, and spending creatcs employment. Property is moving, hruses and other buildings are rising where they did not exist before, industrial shares are up, and investors are eagerly searching for outlets for their 'frozen' capital. The time has arrived for New Ze'alanders to follow suit."
