WESTFIELD SALES.
FAT STOCK MARKET. VALUES VERY FIRM. There was a ready demand, with values very firm at late quotations at the Westfield sales to-day. Owing, apparently, to growers holding off for better prices, the yardings were smaller than usual. Calves, however, came forward in full numbers, and mostly sold steadily at last week's full rates. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency. Co., Ltd., report:—At our weekly Westfield fat stock market held to-day beef was penned in less than average numbers. There was a ready demand, with values very firm at late quotations. Extra choice ox sold to 19/ per 1001b; choice and prime, 16/ to IS/; secondary and plain, 13/ to 15/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 15/ to 18/; secondary, 12/ to 14/.
