CONDITIONS PLEASE.
Winooka's Trainer Satisfied With Weight. RACE NEXT FRIDAY. (Received 1.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, October 12. A message from Laurel states that Mr. Poison told the Australian Press Association representative to-day: "I am very well pleased with the conditions for next Friday's race. I am grateful to the Laurel management for making the conditions read 101b below the standard scale. My horse will carry 8.8. He is a good weight carrier, and it is my sincere hope that Winooka meets a high-class field next Friday." The following horses will probably participate in the race:—Character, Pair-by-Pair and Okapi. It is also intimated that Osculator may start, as well as Gold Step. Winooka was given a light work-out this morning and went six furlongs in 1.10 handily. He was hard held throughout. The horse is to be worked here on Saturday between the races with the colours up.
