DAYLIGHT SAVING.
J Mr. McKeen, M.P. for Wellington Suburbs, is appealing to the Government to sponsor the |Summer Time Amendment Bill, which pro- | vides for a whole hour of daylight saving, and an extension of the period" by one month. These alterations may appeal to that part of the community who work in the day and have the evenings for pleasure, but does Mr. McKeen realise what it means to the people, such as bakers, milkmen, night-watchmen, etc., who have to work during the night or early morning and sleep in broad daylight, to say nothing of the heat of the summer evenings? It seems to me that this Summer Time Bill was drafted for the sole purpose of letting those who have the privilege of starting work at a late hour to have also the benefit of extra sport to a. late hour at night, the early starters not being considered, at- aIL, A BARER.
