THE LEGION OF FRONTIERSMEN.
The activities of a newly-formed political organisation known as "The New Zealand Legion" have caused many people to confuse that body with the Legion of Frontiersmen. As officer commanding A Squadron of the Legion of Frontiersmen, I feel it my duty to inform the public that we are not associated with any political or religious body in the Empire. At the present time "legions" of all sorts appear to be springing into being. There is, however, only one Legion of Frontiersmen, and that has never been and never will be a political body. The chief object of the Legion of Frontiersmen is« to stand by the Empire in time of need, believing, as we do, that a country worth living in is worth fighting for. I must state emphatically, however, that our legion dissociates itself from such matters and stands for law, order and preparedness. We consider that every Britisher owes a solemn duty to his country, his women folk and children. W. PALMER, O.C. A Squadron, Legion of Frontiersmen.
