Tramways won the toss and decided to take advantage of the stroug wind that was blowing down the ground. The opening session saw Tramways at tlieir opponents' goal, but some smart play by the New Lynn forwards removed play to tlie opposite end. Some lively exchanges followed, from which neither side could claim any advantage. Trams then set up a brisk attack, and two successive corners saw the last one head narrowly over the bar by Williams. New Lynn then worked into their opponents' territory, and a nice movement ill which Hamilton, McGrory and Brown participated, saw the latter score a good goal. Trains attacked strongly on resumption and Morris brought off a great save from a strong drive by Williams,'and the two subsequent corners saw New Lynn clear.
