GOLF RECORDS.
TWO YOUNG CHAMPIONS. (Received 0 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. Harry Williams, the young Melbourne golfer, established a new course record, and led the field in the qualifying rounds of the Victorian amateur championship by no fewer than four strokes at the Metropolitan Club's course. Williams returned a card of OS, Ryan 72, Bulte 72. The course record has stood for three years at 73. At Sydney, the youthful player Jim Ferrier won the champion of champions golf competition at Killara links with an amazing round of 66 in the afternoon following 75 in the morning. At one stage in the afternoon he was six under fours. His short game- was dazzling, alw> hie putting. Bettingtou was third with an aggregate of 149.
