THE NORTHERN WAIROA.
(By £>oreea Jones, Post Office, Pukehula, Northern Wairoa.) I love to sit on the river bank And watch the river flow, And see the big kauri logs As towards the mill they go. The weeping willows along the* sides Sway gently in the breezej And in a nearby iield Birds flit through the sheltering trees. Perhaps a launch may come along Then I hear the engine roar, Maybe from a clump of rush , To'ards the skv a lark mnv soar.
