A former farmer in the Clevedon dis-ii trict, Mr. John B. Burgoyne, of Chamber-i lain Avenue, Mount Eden, died this;! morning. On July 28 Mr, Burgoyne brated hie 90th birthday: Born at' Stoke Fleming, South Pevon, England,, he had;; considerable experience of farming be- - . fore he came to New Zealand in 1883 in ; the old Aorangi. After spending two?! years in Auckland and Takapuna, he ' bought his first New Zealand farm,'; "Kiverdalc," on North, Road, Clevedon,/; subsequently acquiring two other farms, ; • "Fairfield" and "Woodburne." He retired*' from active farming over 30 years ago,l and made his home in Coronation Road, . Epsom. Incidentally he helped to plant ; in that thoroughfare the avenue -ILlbfrr puriri trees which is said to he the finest; in Auckland. He later moved to Cham--' berlain Avenue.
