JAPANESE DEMAND.
SYDNEY WOOL SALES. SYDNEY, August 31. At the Sydney wool sales to-day 13,223 bales were offered and 17,723 were sold. Also 5400 bales were sold privately. There was keen general competition with the market at the best point of the week. An outstanding feature was the strong Japanese demand. Greasy Merino sold to 22d.
