FROZEN MEAT EXPORTS.
INCREASED LAMB SHIPMENTS. ALSO BEEF AND PORK. Shipments of frozen meat from NewZealand to the United Kingdom for the present season, namely from October, 1932, to August 15, have been as follows, the figures for the corresponding portion of the two previous seasons being shown for comparison:— 1930-31. 1031-32. 1932-33. Lamb carcases 7,251,593 8,222,014 8,375,716 1 "carcases 2,184,376 2,553,3C0 1,507 t 207 Pig carcases 116,901 126,211 231,147 Beef quarters. 106,262 lfiG,4S6 301,342 Beef (boneless, in bags) .. 91,505 203,021 2G2.G11 From the foregoing it will be seen that the slight increase in lamb exports has been more than counter-balanced by a sharp reduction in the quantities of mutton shipped. The export of pigs has shown a gratifying increase. The quantities of beef shipped again returned to fairly substantial proportion, but this expansion has now been arbitrarily halted by the British quota restrictions.
