Latest cables from London indicate a favourable turn in the butter market, which is again described as firm. The official weekly report received by the t'ress Association reads as follows:-— "Butter is active. Danish, 107/ to 108/ per cwt; choicest salted New Zealand, 02/ tr. 93/; Australian, 01/ to 92/; unsalted New Zealand, 02/ to 04/; Australian, 91/ to 92/. "Cheese is slow.. New. Zealand, white 47/0, coloured 50/." Merchants' Cables. The following cables have been received this morning by Auckland merchants from their principals in Xooley Street, London:— Messrs. A. S. Paterson and Co.: —We arc this day in receipt of the following cable from our principals, Messrs. J. and J. Lonsdale and Co., Ltd., London: — Butter: Market firm. Danish, 87/ f.o.b. (108/ landed); New Zealand, 92/ to 93/; Australian, 92/ to 93/. Cheese: More inquiry. White, 47/0 to 48/; coloured, 50/0 to 51/. Mr. L. McCartney (Messrs. Henry A. Lane and Co., 'London): —Butter: New Zealand, 92/ to 93/. Market firm, improved demand. Cheese: New Zealand, white 47/0, coloured 50/0. Market steadier. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited (London principals, Messrs. Samuel Page and Son): —Butter: The market is firm. Now Zealand, linest grade, salted, 90/ to 93/ per cwt; Danish, 105/ to 106/; Australian, finest unsalted, 92/ to 94/; finest salted, 90/ to 02/; g.a.q., 87/ to 89/. Cheese: The market is quiet. New Zealand, white, 47/ to 48/ per cwt; coloured, 50/ to 51/; Canadian, white, 50/ to 52/; coloured, 51/ to 54/. Mr. M. O. Stewart (principals R. and W. Davidson, Glasgow):—Butter: Market firm, upward tendency. Salted, 91/ to 93/ per cwt, equivalent to 10.72(1 f.0.b.; unsalted, 94/ to 96/, equivalent to ll.lOd f.o.b. Cheese: Firmer. White, 47/6 per cwt, equivalent to 5.04 d f.0.b.; coloured, 50/6, equivalent to 5.42 d f.o.b.
