DARGAVILLE NOTES.

The Coronation Hall was the scene of a gay assembly on the occasion of the annual ball of No. 3 platoon B Company of the 15th North Auckland Regiment. Black and red paper streamers were festooned from all sides of the building, culminating in a huge bunch in the centre, and enlivened with coloured balloons. Extra dance music was supplied by Mrs. C. Pilbrow, and the Misses D. Burke and J. Dickson. During the evening the Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mrs. C. Gould and Mr. H. Madden; statue waltz by Miss I. Massey and Mr. J. Wynn, and the lucky spot' waltz by Miss N. Warmington and Mr. G. Marshall. Amongst those present were: Mesdames S. Ledger, E. Warmington, J. New, W. B. Smith, G. Hockey, W. A: Haden. B. Morgan, E. G. Brock, C. Gould,. A. Upton, C. W. Rugc, D. A. Savidcnt, C. Pilbrow, Misses H. M. Hayes (Auckland), B. Bryer, A. Morgan, M. Greene, T. Brown, N. Kelly, M. Phelan, J. Workays (Auckland), H. Marshall, H. Dunn, M. Dickson, A. Fenton, A. Stephenson (Auckland), J. C'obbalt, T. Stanford, A. Stubbs, E. Ashby, D. Ball, R. Martin, N. Corkill, B. Andrew, D. Aukett, B. Stallworthy. At the Presbyterian Hall, Dargaville, a social evening was held in aid of the guild funds. Competitions and musical items were given. Those assisting were: Mesdames T. H. Attwood, J. King, E. Robinson, Misses G. and F. Druinmond, T. Smith, G. Toogood, K. and M. Hilliam, E. McLean, T. and A. Campbell, and Rev. X. 0. White. A flag 500 evening was held at Te Kopuru, when the winners were Mesdames J. Kemp. W. A. Haden,,F. Cave, Misses I. Clark, P. Simpson.. Prizes were donated by Mrs. E. R. Rope. Mrs. J. Cochrane, of Opononi, is a visitor to Dargaville. being the guest of Mrs. J. Hemphill, Ma puna. Miss Sylvia Vause, Auckland, is visiting Dargaville. and is the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Vause. Miss L. McNeil, of Auckland, is at present visiting Dargaville, the guest of Mrs. E. Wigg. Mrs. Chanoy, of Remueni, is visiting Dargaville, the guest'of Mrs. C. Dunsford. Miss M. and A.
