CHURCHMAN PASSES.
ACTING-PRIMATE'S DEATH. BRISBANE, August 30. The death has occurred of Dr. Gerald Sharp, Anglican Archbishop of Brisbane. He was acting-Primate of Australia after the death of Archbishop Wright in New Zealand some months ago.
Archbishop Sharp was 67 years of age. He was born in Cheshire, England, and was educated at St. John's College, Cambridge. He was first appointed to a curacy at Taunton,. Somerset, and later appointments were at Hammersmith ana Whitkirk, Yorkshire. In 1909 he was Proctor in Convocation for the Archdeaconry of Ripon, and the following year he was appointed Bishop of &e\v Guinea. He held that position until 1921, when he went to Brifibaiie as Archbishop.
