SANDERS CUP. WELLINGTON'S ATTITUDE. CRITICISM OF AUCKLAND. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) • WELLINGTON, this day. Satisfaction that the controversy regarding the Sanders Cup was nearing finality was expressed by tSe chairman, Mr. 0. A. Moller, at a meeting of the Wellington Provincial Yacht and Motor Boat Association last night, but he regretted that the Auckland Association had acted as it did. In asking the donors of the cup, Messrs. Walker and Hall, if they wished to take the trophy back, Auckland had acted in rather a small way, said Mr. Moller, because the donors had said the cup would not be given for other than interprovincial contests. Auckland had shown apathy, and he felt they had been misinformed. Referring to the Auckland resolution regarding the control of races, Mr. Moller said the Auckland Association had had veto powers. He believed the Aucklanders would wake up to the fact that justice was being done the Southerners and would then come in and bury the hatchet.

Mr. B. J. L. Jukes said that during the past five years Auckland yachtsmen had not acted as officials at the contest. Few - Aucklanders sent down had been willing to act or capable of doing so.

The chairman said the Aucklanders had either come down late or had refused to act as officials. To state that the Southerners did not want them was talking nonsense.
