MIRACULOUS ESCAPE.
RAILWAY CROSSING SMASH. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Wednesday. The Bath Street railway crossing at Levin was the scene of a miraculous escape this afternoon, when the southbound New Plymouth express crashed into & motor car driven by Mr. J. .Richards, a retired farmer. The other occupants of the car were Mesdames W. Nye and W. Heseltine, who were engaged on a clothes drive for charity. The car was thrown to one side and severely damaged, but the driver and passengers suffered only bruises and slight cute.
