MOTORISTS IN TROUBLE.
ROAD to whangarbi. fßy Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAEEI, tliis day. The northern patrol of the A.A.A. reports that a number of motorists have got into difficulties through trying to use the East Coast route to Auckland, via Waipu Cove and Mangawai. The clay section near the Whangarei boundary is passable after two days' fine weather, but is exceptionally rough. The remaining clay gap on the other side of Mangawai, connecting with Wellsford and the Dome Valley, is in an exceedingly bad state, the ruts being 3ft deep in places. Traffic is strongly advised to make a detour at Mangawai to the Kaiwaka main road, or the Maungaturoto all-weather route.
