DRAMA FESTIVAL.
THIRD NIGHT'S FARE. Once more the skill of Miss Elizabeth ±sJake as a criticiser and an adviser combined, was apparent at the Concert Chamber last evening, when three more oneact plays were staged in furtherance of the current festival of drama by the Auckland area of the New Zealand branch of the British Drama League. Growing attendances reveal eloquently the expanding appreciation with which this type or entertainment is received in Auckland, where nothing of the kind has ever been attwnpted before. , .^ e three plays Presented last evening i\ ere \ Maker of Dreams" (Oliphant Downs), a delightful imaginative fantasy, Pirii . e George's Dramatic Circle; Ghosts on Christmas Eve" (Mabel Brackenbury Latter), dealing with the meeting of past and present characters, by the Georgian Readers, and "The Maid of Irance ) (Brighouse), again bv the St. Georges Dramatic Club. Miss Blake play s ™phcity of the appeal of this To-night patrons of this local community drama festival will be entertained by the (jreorgian Readers, who will present "ChalVictoria League Entertainment Circle, with "Mr. John," and the last act of Pinero's "Second Mrs. Tanqueray, which -was recently staged by the arrick Dramatic Society. Further programmes will be staged to-morrow and on Saturday evenings.
