BAPTIST TABERNACLE.
ANNUAL MEETING HELD. J At the 78tli annual meeting of the Auckland Baptist Tabernacle Church, there was: a large gathering of members, and the records showed marked progress during the past year. The secretary, Mr* S. T. Page, stated that the past year had included a greater number of baptisms and an increase in the number of people received into church membership than had ever been recorded before, there being 143 baptised and 126 new (members received. Sectional reports were given by various secretaries, and these, all- showed good progress in Sunday school, Christian Endeavour, missionary and social work. Reference was made to the months of anxiety experienced by the Church on account of the illness of the minister, the Rev. Joseph W. Kemp, and tributes to his woi'k were expressed. The treasurers reported that the giving bad been well maintained, and the accounts were closed in credit for the year. During the meeting Miss Julia Hill, the thirtieth member to leave for the mission field, was farewelled. In acknowledgment of many years of service to the Tabernacle Church Mr. F. N. Andrews and Mr. A. B. Shalders were elected life members of the Elders' Court. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Secretarv, Mr. S. T. Page; treasurers. Messrs. W. H. Lamb and E. S. Battley; organist and choirmaster, Mr. A. E. Wilson. Messrs. H. Fountain and W. A. Beevley were elected elders, and Messrs. P. W. Gaze, Lambourne, O. S. Wiles and B. Williams deacons.
