QUOTATIONS FOR METALS. ALL-ROUND INCREASES. LONDON, August 28. Following are ,to-clay's quotations on the London metal market, compared with those of August 25: —
•American, 9 cents per lb, same as on August 25. WHEAT CARGOES. LONDON, August 28. Cargoes opened firm at 6d to 9d advance in sympathy with week-end rise in America and further appreciation on the Montreal Exchange. The demand, however, was disappointing and the market closed quieter. Parcels are firmly held at 3d to 6d advance. There is fair business, particularly in Russian samples to British ports. Futures: London, September, 21/8 per quarter; December, 22/9; February, 23/IV6; Liverpool, October, 5/1% per cental; December, 5/3%; March, 5/0%; May, 5/7%. GOLD AND SILVER. (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, August 29. Gold is quoted at £0 per ounce. Silver is quoted at 18d per ounce for spot delivery and 18% d for forward. DAIRY PRODUCE. New Zealand Producers' Co-operative Marketing Association have to-day received a cable from their London office, dated August 29, reading as follows:— Both markets steady. Butter: New Zealand, 92/; Danish, 105/. Cheese: White, 47/ to 48/; coloured, 50/ to 51/.
