MOUNT ALBERT COUNCIL.
The Mount Albert Borough Council met last evening, the Mayor, Mr. R. E. Feruer, presiding. Road Cross-over.—The Auckland Transport Board wrote stating that it could not install a cross-over at Richardson and Woodward Roads at the present time, but would reconsider the matter in six months. Plunket Society.—The president of the Plunket Society, Lady F. Sinclair Lockhart, requested a rebate on cost of cross-1 ings at Karitanc Home. The. council decided to install them free of all charge. Victoria League.—Permission to hold a street collection on Daffodil Day, September 1, was granted to the Victoria League. Street Trees.—Attention was drawn to trees in the streets which were considered a menace. The parks committee is to arrange to have them pruned. Inspectors' Reports.—lt was decided that the matter of inspectors' reports be inquired into by the staff in committee with a view to co-ordination. Deputy-Mayor. — Mr. P. Floyd was nominated by the Mayor for deputyMayor, and Mr. 13. Brigham by Mr. J. O. N. Hoole. Mr. Brigham was elected by five votes to four.
