"BRIGHT SIDE UP."
To-night at 8 o'clock J. C. Williamson, Ltd., will present for the first time in New Zealand Ernest C. Rolls' successful and spectacular musical comedy produce tion, "Blight Side Up." It was in "Bright Side Up" that Miss Jennie Benson, Mr. Charles Norman and Miss Renie .Riano scored triumphs in Sydney and-Melbourne, and the other artiste were all specially engaged for the sketches, ballets, song numbers and specialty features in which they appear. Mr. Charles Norman achieved a success in "Venus, Ltd.," but in "Bright Side Up" he is said to receive many more opportunities to further prove that he is one of the best comedians seen in Auckland during recent years. Mise Jennie Benson, too, will be seen to greater advantage in the new production, as also will be Miss Renie Riano. From among a number of the outstanding features one that made a sensation is "Trees," which is sung by Miss Thelma Trott, and she is supported by the ballet and Mr. Billy Kershaw (spirit of the wind). Another feature is "Russian Moon," sung by Marie Doran and Colin Crane, who are supported by the specialty dancers Miss Pat Redmond and Billy Kershaw. This presentation had to be repeated six times when it was originally staged in Sydney. Another sensational feature dance is executed by L'Etoile and Laurance. The Australian show girls will, it is said, appear in some original and startling costume creations, aud a big feature of "Bright Side Up" is the brilliant work of the Australian ballet. Box plans are at Lewis Eady, Ltd.
