RANGITATA ARRIVES.
NOTABLE PASSENGERS. RHODES SCHOLAR'S VISIT. The R.M.s. Rangitata arrived early this morning after a fair and uneventful passage from England. She brought 100 passengers in all classes. Mr. W. G. Kalaugher, a Rhodes scholar of 1927, has returned to Auckland after an absence of six years. He is now a master at Marlborough College. Accompanied by his wife, he intends to spend a month or so here before returning. In business in Gisborne twenty years ago, Mr. W. Barrington Miller, now residing in London, is making a combined business and pleasure trip to New Zealand and Australia. On his way to stay with Mr. C. T. Parkinson, headmaster of King's School, Parramatta, New South Wales, is the Rev. A. G. Mitchell, who was for 25 years vicar of St. Augustine's, Sheffield. Mr. G. V. Were, of the Agricultural Department, Wellington, returned after spending eight months in England inspecting dairy produce. He will make a report to the Government. Mr. A. Moir, a paper merchant, of Sydney, wio lias Deen in England for eighteen months, is on his way back to Australia. He leaves for Wellington to-night. England, he said, was showing sure signs of recovery. Mr. J. Kelso, chairman and managing director of Mcllwraith, McEachern and Company, Ltd., shipowners, of Australia, is on his way back to Melbourne after a visit to America and Great Britain. He is accompanied by Mrs. Kelso.
