ON PROBATION.
UNEMPLOYED MAN'S GFFENCE INTOXICATED IN MOTOR CAR. (By Telegraph.—'Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, this day. An unemployed married man with five children was before the Police Court today, charged with driving a motor car while intoxicated. In placing him on probation for two years and cancelling his license, Mr. E. C. Levvey, S.M., expressed the opinion that the only remedy was imprisonment. He issued a warning that no matter what the circumstances, if people chose to drive vehicles while in a state of intoxication, the Court would not give the option of fines.
